A Day as an Ambulant Office Host / Receptionist at ProRail

As an Ambulant Office Host / Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, employees, and suppliers at various ProRail locations. You will ensure a welcoming, professional, and safe reception and contribute daily to a positive experience for visitors and employees.

You will greet and register visitors, issue visitor passes, and notify employees of their guests’ arrival. In addition, you will assist employees with access control and ensure that reception areas, waiting rooms, and common areas are neat, presentable, and ready for use.

In addition to reception duties, you will play an important role in facility services. You will conduct building rounds, check the order, cleanliness, and safety of the work environment, and identify any malfunctions, irregularities, or unusual occurrences. You will assist with processing mail and packages, manage various facility services, and handle facility-related reports and administrative tasks.

You will also work closely with facility managers, security, and other facility partners. You will assist with emergency response-related processes, conduct opening and closing rounds as needed, and actively contribute to a safe work environment.

Because you’ll be working on-site at various ProRail locations, no two days are the same. It is precisely this variety—spanning hospitality, facilities support, administration, and safety—that makes this role challenging and versatile.

• Has experience in hospitality, reception work, facility services, or another customer-facing role;
• Has a presentable and professional appearance;
• Possesses excellent communication skills;
• Is hospitable, service-oriented, and solution-focused;
• Has a proactive work ethic and an eye for detail;
• Is able to switch easily between different tasks;
• Works accurately, independently, and in an organized manner;
• Has a keen eye for safety and remains calm in unexpected situations;
• Gets a boost from helping visitors, employees, and suppliers.

Furthermore, it is important that you

• Available starting in September for 3 to 4 days a week;
• You are flexible and available to work at various ProRail locations;
• You must be willing to travel by public transportation; traveling by car to the locations is not possible;
• Excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written;
• Are proficient in Microsoft Office and digital record-keeping systems;
• Possesses strong administrative and organizational skills;
• You are reliable, punctual, flexible, and responsible;
• You are willing to play an active role in emergency response procedures.
