Store assistant in Van Gogh Museum shop
We are lookingfor retail staff for the Retail team at the Van Gogh Museum Shop in Amsterdam city center, starting in mid-March. Are you someone who wants to make a difference in the field of hospitality? And do you always greet your customers with a smile? Then respond quickly to the vacancy below!
A day as an employee in Van Gogh Museumshop
You will work in an ambitious, collegial and dynamic store environment, where you will have multiple duties and responsibilities. These consist of selling store items and answering questions in such a way that they are optimally tailored to customer needs and contribute to the museum store's revenue goals.
In addition, you advise customers of all kinds of nationalities and provide them with general information. You must therefore be prepared to switch between Dutch and foreign visitors.
You will also deal with the payment of purchases at the store cash register, in accordance with the applicable procedures and assist at the self-scan checkout. Ensuring timely replenishment of items in the museum store.

What we ask of you
- You enjoy interacting with customers and responding to their needs;
- You enjoy making sure that after your advice, customers also proceed to a purchase;
- You have VMBO/MBO working and thinking level in the direction of commerce;
- You have experience in selling products;
- You are service and customer oriented;
- You can work well together.
Furthermore, it is important that you
- Be available for at least 2 days per week from Monday to Sunday between 8:45 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. as of mid-March;
- Are available to work at least once a month on weekends;
- Be fluent in Dutch and well understood in English;
- Willing to travel to work by public transport or bicycle;
- Live in (the vicinity of) Amsterdam.
