All about the function

As a receptionist(e) at the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in Amsterdam, you will be the first face that visitors, employees and guests see when entering. You will work in an international and dynamic environment where professionalism, discretion and hospitality are key.

From the reception area, you welcome visitors with a smile, escort them to their appointments and make sure every guest feels seen and at ease. You are the connecting factor between visitors, employees and facility partners. Always alert, communicatively strong and service-oriented.

In addition to welcoming and registering visitors, you will take care of the meeting rooms, handle phone calls and emails, and support the Facility team with daily tasks. With your eye for detail, you will ensure that the reception area and surroundings always look tiptop.

Your day as a receptionist(e) at EMA

You start the day with a smile and a quick check of the reception area: everything clean, organized and ready for the first visitors. When the (international) guests arrive, you welcome them personally, offer coffee or tea and make them feel welcome right away.

During the day, you answer questions, reserve meeting rooms, manage incoming mail and liaise with the facilities team. You switch effortlessly between English and Dutch, and always keep an overview. Even when things get busy.

Our ideal candidate

You have experience in hospitality, for example in hospitality, aviation or hotel management, and feel at home in a service-oriented role. In addition:

• Speak English fluently;

• Are you available immediately or at short notice (of course, we take into account a notice period);
• If you live in (the vicinity of) Amsterdam and travel easily by public transport, the building is located at the Zuidas.
