All about the function

As a receptionist(e) at Clifford Chance, you will be the first point of contact for visitors and employees. You will work in an elegant and international office in a listed building. Here professionalism, discretion and hospitality go hand in hand. Clifford Chance is one of the largest law firms in the world, with offices in over 20 countries. The Amsterdam office is known for its high-quality services, strong international orientation and formal but accessible atmosphere.

You welcome guests with a smile, ensure flawless registration and escort them to the meeting center. Here you are also responsible for the preparations. From room layout to catering, every appointment runs smoothly thanks to your eye for detail.

In addition, you will regularly man the telephone switchboard, switching quickly and speaking professionally. You alternate between these two components on a daily basis, making for a versatile and energetic work day. This role is about more than just receiving: you are also an organizer, director and representative face of a top office.

Your day as a receptionist(e) at Clifford Chance

Your day as a receptionist at Clifford Chance starts with checking the schedule: what meetings are on the agenda, how many visitors are expected, and what needs to be prepared? You'll check the meeting rooms, take care of setup and catering, and make sure everything is up to par.

During the day you will switch between two main tasks: the reception desk and the switchboard. At the reception desk you welcome guests in a warm and professional manner, register them in the system and escort them to the meeting center. In between, you liaise with colleagues from facilities or catering to make sure everything runs smoothly. At the switchboard you answer incoming calls, connect them and provide information where necessary.

It is a dynamic role in which you are constantly switching between different responsibilities. You are a true all-rounder, at home in a business environment and strong in keeping an overview. You work together in a small, close team where independence, discretion and reliability are self-evident.

Our ideal candidate

You have experience in hospitality, for example in the hospitality or hotel industry, and feel at home in a business setting. In addition:

• Have a presentable appearance as a host or hostess;
• Work proactively and think in terms of solutions;
• Are you fluent in Dutch and proficient in English;
• Are you available immediately or at short notice (of course, we take into account a notice period);
• Can handle crowds and unexpected situations well;
• Are you living in or near Amsterdam.
