A Day in the Life of a Hospitality Supervisor at ProRail

As a Hands-On Supervisor, you combine leadership with active participation on the work floor. You serve as the primary point of contact for the client, hospitality and facilities staff, and other service providers on site. You maintain a visible presence, manage the team on a daily basis, and pitch in with operations as needed. In this way, you not only ensure that schedules and quality standards are met, but you also lead by example.

The position involves working 4 to 5 days a week. In addition to your coordinating duties, you will spend 2 days a week on the road, which means you will be assigned to various ProRail locations. This allows you to stay closely connected to the day-to-day operations and gives you a clear understanding of what is happening within the teams and at the various locations.

You will guide, coach, and motivate employees in their daily work and ensure they have the right knowledge, resources, and support to perform their jobs to the best of their ability. You will monitor the quality of services in the areas of hospitality, reception, facilities support, and security, and actively identify opportunities for improvement in processes and service.

In addition, you will maintain close contact with ProRail’s Facility Manager and other stakeholders within the organization. You will serve as a key point of contact at the operational level and will seamlessly switch between leading, collaborating, and coordinating with various partners. You will actively contribute to optimizing the visitor experience, employee satisfaction, and facility processes.

You will also be responsible for mentoring new employees, conducting progress and performance reviews, and fostering personal development within the team. You will ensure a positive working relationship among all facilities partners and actively contribute to the “One Team” philosophy within the organization.
